I've enjoyed art since I was a small child. Some of my favorite times were spent coloring, sketching and taking art lessons. After drifting away from my creative side for a few years, I took an introductory faux finishing class. What an amazing day! Not only did I discover an art form that I loved, I learned it was something I could do professionally. I am blessed to have found a career which allows me to do what I love.
Every job brings something new. I am able to work with classic finish techniques which have been around for centuries, develop new contemporary finishes and everything in between.
As a member of the International Decorative Artisan’s League (IDAL)and president of their local chapter, Carolina Creative Artisans, I enjoy collaborating with other like-minded artists. We are able to learn from each other and also join forces to complete various philanthropic projects throughout the area.
I've been blessed to be married to my best friend for over 30 years. We have a beautiful daughter who is now following in my footsteps. She is owner of Deep River Mercantile () in historic downtown Pittsboro, a curated general store for the everyday home. She also offers custom painted cabinets and furniture along with workshops and interior design services. I enjoy the opportunity to occasionally work together on projects.
Most of all, I enjoy meeting so many wonderful people through my work!
